Butant contre la possibilité écœurante au cœur de l’humanité de torturer et de porter atteinte aux innocents, Pape Ibrahima Ndiaye ne peut se résoudre à admettre l’enseignement des livres sacrés : « l’homme est le remède de l’homme ». Posant la question de la destination humaine, Pape Ibrahima Ndiaye témoigne lumineusement : des corps sont passés par là avant nous, la danse est la marque encore vivante de ce déplacement. Pleine de cette mémoire, elle nous en assigne le détail et le rythme, elle met nos pas dans les pas des pas. Ici, depuis très longtemps, nous attend quelque chose de connu et d'indéchiffrable, un projet immense et mystérieux qui consisterait à retracer, espace, corps et temps ensemble, une totalité absente, ou différée, dont nous ne percevons que des éclats, des signaux. « Comme mes ancêtres le faisaient, je danserai pieds nus et mes pas feront trembler la terre ».

Coming up against the revolting potential in the heart of humanity to torture and harm the innocent, Pape Ibrahima Ndiaye cannot bring himself to accept the teaching of the sacred books: "Man is the remedy of Man". Framing the question of human finality, Pape Ibrahima Ndiaye offers a brilliant testimony: bodies travelled this road before we did; dance is the sign of their passing and is still alive today. This all-embracing memory gives us the detail and the rhythm, it makes us place our steps in the steps of steps. For a very long time, something known and indecipherable has been expecting us here, an immense and mysterious project which will involve retracing space, body and time together, an absent or deferred totality, of which we perceive only fragments and signals.
